Immediate AutoCAD crash on opening without error message: AutoCAD Mac 2026 MacBook pro M2 chip

Hi,

I am using AutoCAD 2026 on my MacBook pro 2023 with m2 chip, running MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1. I have found that my AutoCAD is crashing immediately on opening, without any error message at all. I tried a clean uninstall and reinstall and it worked for a short time but has since started happening again.

I don't believe that the file is corrupted because I have been trying it opening a new drawing  as well as existing drawings. I allow AutoCAD to open fully before selecting a file to open, rather than opening the application by opening a dwg file.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Hi @ucbvom0 ,

Have you installed 2026.1 Update for AutoCAD 2026 for Mac?

I'd suggest you also to verify that AutoCAD and Autodesk items allowed in the Background in Login Items & Extensions section of the General tab of macOS System Preferences:
