Images Not Printing

Hi,

We have been trying to troubleshoot image plotting problems like many of you. Our issue is that we can never print any image to any device. However, if we export to PDF images print correctly every time.

What we have tried so far:  (all experiments using 300x400 pixel images of multiple formats)
  • Tried on multiple machines within office: never prints on any machine, therefore unlikely to be a hardware issue
  • RASTERPERCENT = 100
  • RASTERTHRSHOLD = 500
  • HIDEPRECISION = 0
  • Raster Slider (in Printer Properties) = 1 (low, quality)
  • Lines Merge
  • Visual Style set to 2D Wireframe
One thing that our hardware has in common is onboard graphics, specifically Intel HD.  Perhaps people could report what graphics card (or onboard) they are using when our file prints or fails on their machine?

What would be a good workflow to solve this problem?  It seems to me that if we can figure out what AutoCAD is doing fundamentally differently between the exports and plots we could solve the problem as one always works, and the other always fails.  We really need to get this solved, and by the comments we are not alone!

Since this is an unsolved problem that has been going on for years it would be nice if an Autodesk mod would get involved too.

Thanks!

You do realize your DWG file is empty because your "kitten" images are referenced but not included, right?

What are you trying to plot to? Aiming for which drivers and driver versions?
Your AutoCAD version is...? WIndows version is...?
I can replace your images with my own and print your letter sized 4-image modelspace layout to our four different HP printers and the HP plotter. I'm using AutOCAD 2016-Win7-Windows drivers for those HP devices/

Sorry about not referencing the images, here they are with the drawing file.

I am using ACAD 2014, we have multiple ACAD versions in the office, all with the same problem

Our windows versions vary as well, I am using windows 7 Ultimate.

Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU @ 3.40GHz

RAM: 5.00 GB

64-bit

We plot to 3 different printers/plotters. Mainly HP Laserjet 5200tn
Plot driver: gdplot11
Plot Version: 1.1-11.1.18.0

Even AutoCAD DWG to PDF does not print the images
The only work-around we have is to Export to PDF.

If you have any more questions I will try to respond as soon as possible.
Thank you for any help or advice you can give.

In trying to work around this issue ourselves, we are trying to import AutoCAD's standard profile to see if this is a problem in our custom profile. However, our files do not contain a default profile and we are trying not to reset all for fear of losing everything we have done to ours.

Has anyone been able to print the images with the drawing file attached?

Would you be able to share your profile with us to see if this problem is in the settings?

If we are able to print under standard profile settings we will be able to rule out our custom changes.

Another thing to note is that our computers use on board graphics cards, could this be a potential issue?

Does anyone have any ideas why ours might not be able to print pictures?

If we try to print this same file, only the circle and our title block comes out on the sheet.

What driver are you using? I printed your file directly to the WIndows system driver, PCL5 version: no PC3 file was used.

That's just the HDI generic system driver AutoCAD uses, here are screenshots from my driver

Is there a plot or image setting you are using that is not in the sample file? See PDF attached.

Looks similar to mine: maybe the HP5200 isn't as good as the HP5100.
But you say you cannot plot to PDF either, but I did: and both of us are using the DWG TO PDF driver there, right?

No idea friend.
