IMAGE-TRANSPARENCY

Hello,

I am using AutoCAD 2015.

I have set an image to Transparent by tunring-on the transparency by right clicking and selecting Image->Adjust->Transparency->On.  However, It does not appear that the transparency did anything.  When I overlap with another image, I have to use display order to see one image or the other, I do not see thru the transparent image.  So I have to ask, how do I make the image transparent?

Hi,

>> Image->Adjust->Transparency->On

This is only valid for bitonal images so the background of the image get's transparent (>>>details<<<).

If you want to have the image displayed transparent globally put it on a layer and set this layer's property "Transparency" to a value > 0 and make sure that

  • sysvar TRANSPARENCY is on for the display
  • in the plot dialog the checkbox for "Plot transparency" is activated.

Hi,

just want to add ... now images with alpha channel (RGBA) are working too. The setting of background transparency makes then the part of the image transparent according to the alpha channel info.
