I want to print Yellow in color… but actually, see it on the printed page

I am trying to match the best practices 10.0 Common Ground Alliance Uniform Color Code standards (link below).  I’ve got all my colors setup in my templet and printing like a dream, everything but the pesky yellow colors and shades (examples 1&2 below).

Has anyone had any luck getting the yellow colors to pop out best on the printed page?

Possible solution #1:       Find a yellow shade that prints better (See color 52 below). Color 52 shows up a little better but it’s not great. Anyone have a better suggestion?

Possible solution #2:       Can I put a background mask or something like that for the lines? (see example 3 below)

For me ... the best and final result that you will get it will NOT be fine and effective. yellow on white back ground will annoy viewer eyes and some times when you move a way yellow lines will still seen although after a while. try to avoid yellow color .

I agree with Imad that yellow on a white background doesn't typically show up very well especially with thin lines. If increasing the lineweight of the lines is not an option, then perhaps you can try playing with a TrueColor instead of an Index color to get better results.

You will also find that different print devices will render the color differently and perhaps better than others.

I also avoid yellow. It doesn't print well and on the screen it is pretty much invisible until you zoom right in on it. When I get a drawing from someone else that has yellow layers, first thing I do is change them all from yellow to something else. Too many times I've started adding something only to hit a close enough zoom and realize it's already there in the secret yellow color. 😃

If you need yellow to keep those standards I second John's suggestion of going with a true color. Add a tint of another color to the yellow to make it stand out like making it slightly more green or more mustard. You need to print some samples to see which shows up the best with your plotter.

Turns out Yellow is just a hard color to crack. I'm going to get trying yellowish green colors see how that works out in up coming projects.
