Hi, everyone, my name is Fernando and i have a problem, that i have to fix.
Right now i make a 3d wire frame and i need to do some analysis in ANSYS (static and modal) i know that can do this in mechanical simulation but this is a requirement.
the question is, i dont know how can import the 3d wire frame to ansys. I´d like to know which is the extensión to do this.
i really appreciate the help that someone can give me. and i gonna be very gratefull

Hi,

you can know all the extensions that can both Ansys and AutoCAD can deal with from Export command from AutoCAD and Import (Attach Geom) from Ansys. when the dilaog appear go to Files of type  and see all extensions.

Hi,

I would start with DXF as this is the most common format for data-exchange of simple geometry.

As your files do not contain 3D-Solids but just simple lines it should be ok to import a DXF in Ansys (if it can live with lines).

Have you tried the DXF approach?

And have you checked if Ansys can work with simple lines?
