Hello @najaregu

Do you have backup files for the original file?

Try clicking the Application menu(or F1)>  Drawing Utilities  > Open the Drawing Recovery Manager. Find

Then select the file to recover.

If it does not resolve it try Recovering drawing files which fail to open in AutoCAD or the other suggestions located here.

Where are you saving these files?
What variant and year version of AutoCAD do you have?

It appears your two files still have their headers intact when I looked at them in Windows Notepad, AutoCAD2019 is finding hundreds of errors though when I tried o RECOVER them (they never seem to open so far).

A thumbdrive? Those only cost 10cents to manufacture, never a good choice for storage.
If you meant a disk drive with a USB connection, you have have a problem there with all files on that disk (corrupt) or it was just a bad transfer. You can check that disk drive with this method (and purchase if needed) https://www.easeus.com/data-recovery/there-is-a-problem-with-this-drive.html

I've used thumb drives for transferring lots of files and never had a problem so I wouldn't say it's a big mistake but using them for long term storage does sound risky at best.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
