We are a patent attorney's office and need CAD software.  We don't design anything but must format images for presentation to the USPO.  I need the object snaps, editing tools, hatching, view rotation, posibly rastor to vector would be nice if not to expensive an option, then cloud base subscription if posible.

Thanks

I belive Autocad LT should work for all of that except for the rastor to vector,  there may be an inexpensive add-on for that but I'm not sure.  Otherwise there is AutoCAD® Raster Design  http://www.autodesk.com/products/autocad-raster-design/overview

Newest would be best so that you don't have to have the CAD author to downgrade them for you to an older version.

I would call autodesk dealer and tell them what I need, and see a demo.

Some program can be easier to use than othes.

A very long time ago I did some patent application drawing work for a company that worked with patent attorney's.  We used full versions of ACAD.  There were tons of LiSP routines in use, so that ruled out ACAD LT.  I wouldn't count on a rastor to vector software to work well for patent application dwg's.

As original poster mentioned nothing about Lisp,  I recomended LT for cost reasons.  If they need Lisp then full version is the right way to go.

this would be at least be Autocad LT to do the raster to vector would require at least Raster Design but then this would require Full Autocad to use

and all three products are not running in the cloud they run locally on your computer

you would  want to look at desktop subscription which means your renting the software if you stop paying the software will stop working
