I can't import my DXF file from QGIS

Hi!

I have some problem with my AutoCad. I recently installed AutoCad 2019 cause the 2020 and 2021 are not supported in my laptop. Then i exported my shp file from QGis using "export-save features as-AutoCad DXF", after that i imported it to my autocad and got this notification "You have selected an unsupported DGN file. Only V7 and V8 files are supported" like picture below.Screenshot (42).png

Is there someone knows how to solve this??

Thank you!

I had no problems extracting, opening, and re-saving your file.

Attached is a dwg, let us know if you can work with this.

Sounds like you tried to IMPORT the DXF file. You can simply OPEN a DXF file, just change the File Type at the bottom of the OPEN dialog box. You should be good then.

Thanks

From your screenshot, you decided to use the wrong command for import a DXF: you decided to use the command for importing DGN files.

I don't know why you weren't able to open it in your AutoCad, as I do not know what steps you tried.

The steps I used:

Scan the .zip file to make sure there were no malware threats inside (I do this on every file I download, unless it from a verified source, such as Microsoft.com, Autodesk.com, etc)

Open the zip file with WinZip. (if you don't have Winzip, and don't want to buy it, you can install a free trial, or use freeware such as 7Zip)

Extract the dxf file to my desktop

Open it with AutoCad

"audit" the file to fix any errors (1 was found and fixed)

"save as" to my desktop in v2013.dwg format

What steps did you use, and on which step did it fail?

I am using (plain vanilla) 2021.

Looks like you figured out the why...I've never used dgnimport, so am unfamiliar with how it works....or what errors it might encounter

I thought maybe there was an error when the OP extracted from the zip file....or maybe tried opening inside the zip without extracting...and ACAD was confused as to what the file actually was.

Looks like 2019 cannot open this DXF file: having issues with it here too.

But it opens just fine in newer 2020, 2021 and 2022 versions of AutoCAD on my PC: time for you to upgrade perhaps.

As a test, I just tried "Open" and "Recover" options with 2019 on the dxf...both attempts crashed the program.
