Hyperlinks in blocks

I'm working with hyperlinks in blocks, so any-one using the drawings I make can find the original source for objects in the drawing. Most hyperlinks are URL's. Now I have two blocks (see attached) in the same drawing. One hyperlink works, the other doesn't. Hyperlinks are created in the same way. What am I missing here?

@gbG5A5W Did you get a chance to talk with whomever create those for you yet? Or those website owners?

What does "does not work" actually mean to the rest of us?

Both of your blocks are hyperlinked, and other than the fact that they point to locations no one here can use, the hyperlink function works just fine.

By "does not work" I mean the link isn't opening the desired website. On My system the first hyperlink (on block bokwiel) opens the desired website, the second hyperlink (on block blum Aventos hk top) gives the message:

@gbG5A5W You probably need to clean up the link for the one that fails, nothing more. FYI neither link works for me in North America

@pendean both links work fine (redirect to the desired website) if I copy them from the block to the browser. Also the link in your answer works fine here (in Europe). I don't know about intercontinental restrictions for URL's.

About cleaning the link: how? I shortened the link to:

https://www.hafele.nl/nl/product/beslagelementeenheid-voor-klepbeslag-blum-aventos-hk-top-tip-on/P-0...

I made the block three times, three times slightly different geometry, with the same link and the shortened link. Three times the error message pops up

@gbG5A5W Do any hyperlinks work in your AutoCAD program, to other different websites and to content on your PC and network?

And in other DWG files outside of this one?

No issues here at all for us for our typical files and websites in all of our files.

Like I said in my first post: in the first block (bokwiel) the hyperlink works just fine, the one in the second block (klepbeslag) doesn't. In the meantime I made a third block with a hyperlink that also pops up the error message. So out of three blocks only one works. In addition: the blocks are in the same drawing, so the error isn't in the drawing, the system, firewall or that kind of stuff

As you note, the wheel block hyperlink works fine for me, but the other block hyperlink does not. ("The download of the specified resource failed.") Copying the link and pasting into browser does work, however.

Just a "shot in the dark" here (as I have only a little experience with hyperlinks in blocks): I notice that the "bokwiel" hyperlink name is a single "word" (contains no spaces), while the "blum aventos hk top" name contains spaces. This doesn't seem likely, but maybe changing the name to one without spaces?

Nevermind. I tried it myself and nothing changed.

Changing the hyperlink to point to a few other different webpages, it works fine. It seems that the issue may be the web page itself (perhaps?).

I thought I had the solution. The link directed to a pages that needed a login. But after login out and recreating the link, the same error message popped up. So the search continues...

The website https://www.hafele.nl/nl/ likely blocks non-standard traffic when autocad requests access, this is not an autocad issue sadly.
(for example to prevent bot traffic)
I tried using a link shortener and using the base website but to no avail.

I already suspected something like this. I Tried a shortener also, without succes. Shame how (nescessary) safety measures collide with user-friendliness.  Thanks to every-one who helped finding the solution.

@gbG5A5W I sniffed around a bit and there's a workaround.
What you can do is create a public github pages repository, which will act as a redirect to your desired website.
Your github webpage is accesible through autocad and will instantly redirect to your site.

Here's my example: https://brockoily.github.io/redirect-hafele/

See attached dwg.
Best to try and create your own repository since this link will stop working if/when I close that page on my account.

You can expand this further to include all your broken links, or even all links in general so you get a library of links eventually.

@Brock_Olly This means that for every object that needs to be redirected I have to make github webpage? Sounds like a lot of work. In that case I would prefer a simple attribute in the block, containing the URL. In that case the user can simply copy that URL and past in the browser

Not exactly, for every link that would need to be redirected you'd simply add a line to your github html file. Copy an existing line > paste link > done.
Though I admit it's extra work.

OK. That sounds easier than I expected at first. Though this Githus-thing is new to me. It means I make a github HTML sort of webpage? That is on the web somewhere?
