"Upload a new font style to AutoCAD"?

1st of all, two terms are needed to clarify.

Do you mean "text style" when you wrote "font style"?

There is no "upload" function for a text style or font style in AutoCAD.

So with my understanding, you probably ask

  • installing a font or
  • creating a text style for AutoCAD.

If the former, you have to find a font somewhere and install it in your pc.

If it is a "TTF" windows font, install it to windows font folder.

If it is a "shx" font, you have to paste it to this folder

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20XX\Fonts

If the latter, type style in command line then the "text Style" dialog pops up.

Click "Help" button then follow the instruction you will be fine.

Or if you saw a text style which you want to use on other drawing, simply copy a text with the text style from that drawing then paste it to your current drawing.

Minor clarification: SHX fonts may be located in any folder, including ones on a network.  The folder does have to be in the support file search path, however.

You are right. Smiley Happy

Actually I have some SHX fonts in my document folder under SFSP.

But I think @Anonymous is new to AutoCAD. I give him/her a simple guide to start.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

First, turn on file extensions in Windows File Manager like this https://www.thewindowsclub.com/show-file-extensions-in-windows

Then...

TTF fonts install in Windows like this https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-add-remove-and-modify-fonts-in-windows-10/

SHX fonts can be placed in the same folder as the DWG file that needs them if it is a one off requirement, otherwise they go here on your PC C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20XX\Fonts
