How to turn on and off command line for version 2004

I'm using auto version 2004 how do I turn on and off my command line?

What a crazy idea (no matter in which version) to want to turn off the only really meaningful communication source in the block field with the program.

Hard to remember but i though you can't. Commands COMMANDLINE/COMMANDLINECLOSE started a bit later with v2006.

The only thing is to use a tool that moves the commandline(CMDL) to outside of the visible screen

and back to the the visible screen area. [I doesn't support to turn the CMDL off, therefore you have to look for a tool yourself if you want to]

Keep CMFL always on with 4 lines visible to see all feedback from AutoCAD commands.

For a start try key combination <CTRL> + <9>

CTRL+9 ist toggling COMMANDLINE&COMMANDLINECLOSE(in your Version), so it isn't available.

Betreff, Thanks for responding. I agree with you about having the command
line on. My co-worker used my machane and lost my command line. I have been
running the text window on my 2nd monitor.
I changed my screen resolution to see if it was just moved out of sight,
nothing. I think somehow it was turned off and I want to turn it on.

No, it is

1. outside your visible screen

 OR

2. tiny/hidden

    Often it is hidden under the Taskbar! (turn Taskbar to autohide to see what is behind)

or

3. You already tried this

   Change the resolution

4 - Best way - we waiting for some one who has also ACAD pre2006 version or just one who can remember well how it was in this version.

  If the position was part of the Profil: Go to OPTIONS Profile, Export the current Profile

  and share the *.ARG file (as ZIP) - we can reset the position there IF the information is stored there.

At last: Change your Profile OPTIONS PROFILE

or start with a new one: Start parameter /p "NewProfile"

I agree that the command line is off the screen, not lost.

Options and reset it in the profile (the 1st thing to try.)

IF the position is saved in Profile, use InList first, then Profile [Reset]

Or EXPORT first,

if RESET works, we can edit your *.arg Profile - then you have your profile like before, just with the CMDL visible

Betreff, I hid the taskbar, moved it to the top and right side, nothing. I
went to a coworker and exported his ARG file and imported to mine set as
current and still no change.

The same.Both commands not available in 2004 and also the CUI command, all three started in 2006.

@john.uhden sorry for belling - Where is the (floating) commandline position stored in 200-2005 ?

It pulled out my lost laptop,

installed a 2005 version

and now i can help you:

press [ESC]

type in:

_line<enter hit>

follow the key combinations

[ALT]+[SPACE]

[M]

In this second your cursor disappear, right?

and no dialog/menu appears?

Then:

<Now, hit one arrow Key, for example arrow-LEFT>

Now you can move the mouse (without to press a button),

move around until you see the commandline & your cursor.

I don't know offhand. I am at my wife's laptop. I will try to remember to
find out if and where it is. I am no longer working for the 2004
employer. I have only 2002 at home and 2020 at work. I have the 2004 CDs,
but have lost the authorization code. I got it when I was a registered
developer, but since I haven't paid my dues in years, I doubt that Denis
Cadu would give me the code again. Hmm, maybe I'll just ask anyway.
We have learned that people around my neighborhood have planned out how to
handle the Halloween trick-or-treaters in light of the pandemic. One guy
said he was going to shoot candies at the kids with a slingshot. Another
said he was going to eat all the candy himself, just like every other year.

After running cross each room, each corner, i found an old Laptop.

I run further to find a power adapter, done.

Remember the admin password,

insert 2005 CD,

Install, waaaaaaaaaaiiiiting for a long time

Program start, undock the CMDL and

1. make sure it is really not stored in the profile (right)

2. Test [ALT]+[SPACE] Menu... Jackpot. Floated CMDL acts like other Dialogs in these old versions

(2004 or 2002 is the same for this question, i think the CMD was up to 2005 the same, or up to 2008?)
