Dear all,

How to remove the unwanted entities, while converting PDF to Autocad using Autocad software import option?

I have converted original PDF file to AutoCAD file using AutoCAD 2018 software (Using Import option) . I got the Autocad format file with the following issues.

The converted file contains lot of unwanted entities other than my converted pdf entities.

Kindly fix the above issues.

Requirement:

I have more than 2000 pdf files for Autocad conversion. If i work on each file, it consume more time to remove the unwanted entities. That is a time consuming process.

Is there any lisp / shortcuts methods available to avoid the above detailed issues.

I attached 2 images with red markups for your reference.

The built-in tool is what it is: if you want better PDF Import abilities, try buying 3rd party tools and see if they do any better, remember to try before you buy. I'll get you started with your search here https://www.google.com/search?source&q=pdf+to+dwg+conversion

It looks like it might be a character substitution.

Is your text being imported as text or as lines?

My 2 cents on the conversion of 2000 drawings is that i would press as to why you were not given the native CAD files. I realize some times you have to play the hand you are given but i would double check and make sure you cant get the DWGs. I would also express to your boss how bad an idea it is to accept turnover of over 2000 PDFs if what you really need is the DWGs.

I have been there before. I might try to contact the original firm that did the engineering to see if you could get the DWGs. They may have them.

If the plus sign is being imported as text you may be able to use find and replace to help the process along

If you are lucky the polylines will have a unique and consistent length. If so try using QSELECT.

Select entire drawing and select polylines and select poly line length equal to and enter the length of the elements.
