How to remove the unwanted entities, while converting PDF to Autocad?

Dear all,

How to remove the unwanted entities, while converting PDF to Autocad using Autocad software import option?

And how to fix the hidden lines from separate line?

I have converted original PDF file to AutoCAD file using AutoCAD 2018 software (Using Import option) . I got the Autocad format file with the following issues.

1. The converted file contains lot of unwanted entities other than my converted pdf entities.

2. The hidden lines are showing as separate lines.

Kindly fix the above issues.

Requirement:

I have more than 2000 pdf files for Autocad conversion. If i work on each file, it consume more time to remove the unwanted entities and to fix the hidden lines from separate lines(entities). That is a time consuming process.

Is there any lisp / shortcuts methods available to avoid the above detailed issues.

Thanks in advance.

To combine the hidden lines into one line, you can try ticking 'infer linetypes from collinear dashes' (it works better with straight lines than curved ones).PDFimport.JPGPDFimport.JPG

As for the 'unwanted entities', can you give more details about them eg what are they, are they on a different layer to the objects you do want.

Your mail was very helpful to me. I have got it in a successful manner.

But unwanted entities are not yet resolved. I have attached the example file for your review. Kindly fix this issue.

Thanks in advance.

You haven't answered my question of what objects they are (when you select them, what does the properties box say they are?)

Looking at your image, they might be Points. If so, you have two options:

1. If you just don't want them to show, change DDPTYPE to 0

2. If you want to delete them, use QSelect>Object type 'Points'>Select all and erase them.

It may be uncheck the TrueType daw text when importing.
Or make sure that the same font is used as in the original PDF file.
When outputting correctly from AutoCAD to PDF, the used fonts are embedded in the PDF file itself.

Your picture does not tell me what type of objects they are in the autocad file. When you select them, what does the properties panel say?

See here an example of properties panel when a circle is highlightedObject type is CircleObject type is Circle

See where I have highlighted in red on this image - what does it say when you select the objects? Line, point, something else?

Thanks for that - I was hoping they would be points, as that would be easier to get rid of.

The layer that they are on "PDF_Geometry" is a layer that AutoCAD creates when it imports the PDF, so it is likely that there are other entities on the same layer.

You might be able to select only those polylines if there are no others the same length using QSELECT.

QSELECT>Object type "Polyline">Length>Equals>enter the length of one of the lines

qselect.JPGqselect.JPG

But before you delete them, check you're not deleting information that you do want (in case you have any other polylines that length) - change the colour of everything you've selected to something that will stand out in your drawing (eg magenta) - then you will see if there's anything selected that you don't want to delete.

If QSELECT works, you might be able to automate the process but I can't help you with that as I don't know if QSELECT works with scripts etc
