How do I specify a location for my auto save files to go? I'm on a network and I would like to be able to save my files to a location on my computer, not the network.
Now I have to jump through all sorts of hoops to restore any files and usually they are a couple of hours old, even though I am set up to save every 10 minutes.
Sounds like this should be something simple to do, but I think because I am on a network, I'm having problems.
Please help.
Thank you,

They are saved in the Temporary Drawing File Location specified in the Files tab in the Options dialog.
I keep mine in C:\Temp\
Use OPTIONS command > FILES tab > AUTOMATIC SAVE FILE LOCATION (see pic)
Yes... but I am on a network, so I see users\me\appdata\local\temp.
I would like them to be on my computer only so I dont have to search through all the extra files on the network
C:\users\me\appdata\local\temp is on your computer. You may have to make hidden files and folders visible in windows explorer
Oops, see User181 for the correct folder. I had forgotten that one.
You can enter a different path for the folder location.
Autosave exists to provide recovery from a catastrophic failure of some kind, so when the time between PROPER file saves exceed the SAVETIME variable a $SV file is written to the directory you specify in the SAVEFILEPATH. Changing the SAVEFILEPATH changes the location of autosaved files. We force all SAVEFILEPATH's to local drives, specifically C:\AUTOSAVE
Now when the file is subsequently PROPERLY saved the $SV files are deleted (as they should be). However if you have create BAK enabled, and you've failed to properly save your file for over TWICE the SAVETIME setting the earlier $sv file is renamed *.BAK and a new $SV is created.
I would suggest a habit of CTRL+S every few commands and autosave will fade into much less importance.
As an option, you could add some basic code (lisp) to a button on a tool palette so users are 'standardized' in where the Autosave location is located; or just run a simple lisp. This can be added to a corporate configuration lisp that users could run when setting up their workstation for your company, which could include a variety of other pathing requirements, templates, trusted sites, plotting configs, etc.....
Code example (below):
; Temporary file location for Auto Save
(setvar "SAVEFILEPATH" "c:\\temp\\autosave")
