how to open more than one drawing with autocad 2019

how to open more than one drawing with autocad 2019.  I have to close the drawing and open the other.  Just got acad2019 up and running.

Please drag from explorer to your AutoCAD what you need, you should open all you have selected.

If you can only open 1 drawing at a time maybe you need to set the SDI variable to 0

open your autocad > > open > drawing > go to your folder > use ctrl in your keyboard and highlight all your file want to open. thanks

Before installing Autocad 2019 if you had a previous version of Autocad installed, most of the times it could be the "AutoCAD DWG Launcher" file association issue.

this worked.  not sure how or why my SDI was set at (1), but changing that fixed the issue.  Another idea was to drag the dwg file onto the AutoCAD2019 desktop icon, but this opened two different program windows.
