How to migrate custom action macros to new version of autocad.

I have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2022 to AutoCAD 2023. I have a toolbar in 2022 with custom action macros in 2022 that works flawlessly. When I upgraded to 2023 the toolbar is there, however, the action recorder macros do not function. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

you should had create your own folder for actionmacros,

start now to do it.

@:\CAD\ACD\ActionMacros\

Or wherever you store your standard and custom stuff.

Change your Path for ActionMacros to this folder.

Command: Options | Files

find the node for ActionMacros at the end of the list.

And if you take a look there - in your old version,

you know where to find your created actionmacros.

Copy these files to your new ActionMacroStuff folder,

Done.

And if you have a new profile / new Version,

change this SupportPath only

and it works for you.

I am already pointing to the updated action macro in the support path. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You ask "How to migrate custom action macros to new version of autocad"

and that's it , hmm.

Q: In Ribbon, Manage, Action Recorder

You action macros listed?

Can you start one of your action macro from there?

What does "not work"?

We don't have

You Actionmacro and no sample DWG (feel free to share)

All of my custom commands and macros are listed in the cui.  I am using a custom toolbar (not the ribbon).  The toolbar is visible, however the custom action macros are not functioning. They error out stating "unknown command" I appreciate your help. I can not attach any drawings due to NDA.

I have found the issue. After reviewing the pathways, there was a misspelling in the "Additional Actions Reading File Locations" After correcting the misspelling, everything is working 100%. Thank you all for your support!

So no actionmacro was listed where I asked for.

My next question would have been "double check your path" :-))

But it is solved now.

PS: You should use other places(pathes/folder) for your stuff.

Take it as hint what you can ignore - it is your choice.

Wait, what? You actually hand-typed that location instead of using this button to just click on it to list it

And do you really like to bury your own custom files so far away that you have to move/copy them all the time, and ultimately keep doing this mistake over and over again? Why not be power-user for real by creating your own folder on your own drive that never EVER moves then just point to it like we all do

Upgrade: don't be a patsy to new versions, keep your own content save 100% of the time.

I have taken your suggestion and created a new folder on the network that will be used for all future version changes. Thank you for the advise.
