How to make the shapes "real" 3D (File attached)

Hello AutoCAD community,

Attached is a .dxf file I exported from Maple, the model is supposed to be 3D and I need to export it to .stl for printing.

It shows "strings" instead of real cylinders and spheres. It would be great if there is an easier option than remodeling the whole thing by hand.

Thank you

Hi,

welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!

The model is not clean, so even after converting the polymesh to a mesh the next conversion from mesh to 3D-solid fails because of inconsistences of the objects.

Just one sample of the spheres, when you select neighbored 3D-faces you see that 2 seems to be selected, but a third one exists in that selection. Things like that blocks the workflow and so the conversion to 3D-solid to get a STL from that.

You need first a clean geometry, either by finding tools of by recreating the object before you can create a stl from that.

Sorry, - alfred -
