How to display status bar objects as plain text in AutoCAD 2016

Hello,

How do I display the status bar objects (Infer, Snap Grid, Ortho...) as text as opposed to icons?

I recently upgraded from 2014, and can't seem to figure out how to set this option.

I much prefer text as it's easier to read in plain English what I want as opposed to looking at little icons and memorizing what means what.

Thanks for any help.

By the way, I'm alling this row of buttons a "status bar", not 100% sure if that's the proper name for it.

Hi,

Since release 2015 not any more possible, I guess because of space reasons (having Map 3Dit is hard to hold all icons in one line).

Sorry, - alfred -

That is for 2014.  What about for 2017?

Thank you.

Sure, I've seen that claim, but that is bogus. I can turn on all of the icons, including the coordinate display area, and still have plenty of room left over for TEXT buttons.

Moreover, why restrict the options? Let the user decide to enable icons if "there isn't enough room" - or of course turn off items not needed.

No text but you can make the icons bigger.
