Hi guys,

I am sure this question has been asked before, however, i dont have any guide on how to actually do it...i want to dimension X,Y, and Z axis of a 3d box, however, I cannot dimension the Z-axis.

surely, if i have opened a 3d template this should be a simple process?

how do i actually do this in Acad 2019?

Hi Sophie,

thanks for that.

I also worked out a faster method, setting the origin to a face, then select the face which one wants to dimension...its really quick.

To be honest, i am amazed that a program like Autocad isnt capable of dimensioning in 3d space using existing X,Y,Z axis. It seems very odd that no one at autocad thought that perhaps if one is to include the Z axis in the program for drawing purposes, then of course people would also wish to dimension in that axis also without stuffing around like this.

Its pretty shortsighted...i'd be pretty pissed if i was a business owner developing a very expensive product such as this and my project manager/s and software engineers screwed up in this way!

anyway, thanks for your help.
