How to control SPLINE shape

I used the Fit Points option and the spline came out the upper, doted, cyan shape.

I am interested in the lower, red, shape, which i made with the CV option.

Can i create with the Fit Points and later "straighten" the shape? i remember i did it once

If this is what you mean, you can change the controlling Method between Fit and Control Vertices in the Properties box with the Spline selected:

No, this is not what i mean, Kent. i want, from the start, to build and remain in the Fit method, but the first spline points, at the beginning and at the end make large bends that aren't what i want. i want to correct these bends later, but how?

Pick the Spline, hover over an end grip, and:

How they're coming out that warped way in the first place, I couldn't say, but there are Tangency options after every Fit point you pick in drawing them [start Tangency after the first point, end Tangency after the rest].
