How to change layer states of xrefs only?

Hey all,

Basically as title says, is there a way to export layer states for xrefs only? I'd like to keep my non-xref layer properties custom, but only xref layer properties consistent between drawings. I attached a screenshot, not sure if I should select only the xref tab under layer manager to do this.

Save the layer state of all layers, then use the Edit... button to remove all the non-xref layers.

Then make sure that the other option is ticked as needed.

Are you wanting the XREF layers to have the same properties as in the XREF file for all drawings referencing it?

If so, they will remain that way until someone changes them. The VISRETAIN variable can help with this depending on your needs.
