How to add text next to extension line?

Hello all,

I'm documenting an old building and creating line drawings of the various elevations. I'm adding dimensions to show the height of different features of the building. In addition to the dimension lines themselves, I'd like to add text similar to the following example (ie "Grade", "Level 1", etc):

Is there a built-in way to do this? In other words, is there a field I can fill in in the dimension itself, or should I just add these annotations manually using a text (MTEXT) function?

Maybe through a dynamic block with a casual attribute definition ?

I can only see that.

Use TEXT, please.  MTEXT is made for rich formatting purposes. 😉

A Block whose insertion point is at the Dimension arrowhead, and whose text content is an Attribute to set its position?

EDIT:  But to answer part of your original question, no, those can't be part of the Dimensions themselves.
