How to Add Compass to the Viewport?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am new to AutoCAD and using version 2019.

I am trying to add compass to the drawing viewport.

Please refer to the attached document which shows a compass in 2015 version but I do not see that in 2019 version.

I tried several options and checked on the internet to find the potential solution.

However, it did not help.

Could you please let me know a solution for the same.

I will really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Neeraj

Hi,

Thanks for replying.

I did the following:

1. Typed NAVVCUBEDISPLAY in the command prompt (There was no command NAVVCUBDISPLAY)

2. I saw "Enter new value for NAVVCUBEDISPLAY <3>:" and I typed 3

3. Hit Enter key

Result:

I still do not see the compass in the viewport. it looks the same as shown in the screenshot (2019 version)

Could you let me know if I followed your instructions correctly.

Thanks

Hi,

can you look to command _OPTIONS and these settings?

If that does not work then please use command _GRAPHICSCONFIG and turn off hardware acceleration, start a new drawing and look to the viewcube, is it now displayed?

Hi Alfred,

The OPTIONS setting worked for me. It did not have a check on 2D Wireframe Visual Style

Thank you so much.

I just have a follow-up question to this:

Is there a way to set the compass using the GUI (I mean browsing through the toolbars)?

Thanks once again.
