How do I move 3d proxy objects in autocad

So here is my Delma, I have some 3d Proxy objects I need to move to a different location on a drawing but they wont move. Now I have done some checking around and  it seems that they are stuck in the position they are in forever. Is this true? if not please let me know what I can do I am using regular AutoCAD with 3d capability but not MEP. I require the 3d properties to remain intact. I have labeled where I want to move the stuff to.

Thanks,

Peells

The object type that the proxy contains can specify whether or not the proxy should allow itself to be moved. It sounds like you have proxies that are not allowed to move. The only way around that would be to get an object enabler for whatever the proxies represent so that they won't be proxies when the drawing is opened for editing.

I'm assuming you have the Fabrication CADmep Object Enablers installed so you can see those proxies, but you probably will not be able to move them without having the actual application installed. You could convert those objects to regular AutoCAD graphics using EXPORTTOAUTOCAD, but as you said, you require the properties to be intact, and the conversion would strip them of that extra metadata.

You need to be using the exact variant of AutoCAD that created those objects: sorry.
Workaround? Ask the file creator to "export to autocad" that file, you'll get a dumbed down version for your exclusive use (they can't use it if you send it back).

If you are on subscription (not maintenance) with AutoCAd you are free to download and install AutoCADMEP and use, its a perk you are paying for https://www.imaginit.com/software/autodesk-products/autocad/mep-toolset

Still on maintenance? Know now that Autodesk is killing it off in a little over a year so you'll need to figure it all out eventually https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/subscription-changes/bd-p/6073

Well just a bit more information on what I was actually trying to accomplish with moving the objects (that won't move) Well I had imported them into Revit and naturally they were in the wrong place (Go Figure) so I had to xref a background into autoCAD and mark a common point then I had to import it back in to Revit with manual coordinates and was able to move everything right to where it needed to be (what a process to figure out) I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat!!, Thank you everyone for your input, without it I would still be trying to figure all of this out, and thanks for the tip about being able to download MEP Got it now!! Kudos all.
