How can I understand XYZ Coordinate?

Hi, 

Am using Autocad 2010 right now and try to understand XYZ coordinate.. here is what I know,

- X coordinate, view object left and right 

- Y coordinate, view object back and forth  

- Z coordinate show us elevation in model space

(have read this from google but not sure how it works)

Hopefully someone describe it slowly. He/she can answer by philyosopy, link, or everything you thought works for me.

Read this.  Take it as slowly as you can comprehend it, but I don't think anyone here will be able to explain it any better.
