Help with drawing setup

Hi I have inherited a drawing that I feel needs correcting. Model space elements are drawn 1:1 Problem seems to be in Pspace: the vport annotation scale lists as 1:100. I had used the Zoom command to have this be 1/48xp to give me a vport of 1/4"=1'-0". Plus I can't seem to effectively use the Zoom extents command, If someone can look at this file and provide some feedback I'd appreciate this. Thanks.

A layer is frozen in MS, thaw that, zoom extents to view the object on that layer. Move it or delete it. In PS create a custom scale for 1/4"=1', PS units 1, MS units 48. Use that to scale VP. Should work just like manually typing in z, 1/48xp as you said.

If something I wrote can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, I meant the other one.

ok so first the zoom extents command will pan out to show everything in the drawing not just what in your viewport.(you my want to try zoom window. dobule click in the viewport- type zoom then w for window select the area and it will zoom in on the box you outlined)'

I don't know why the arch scales are missing in your drawing(im sure its something simple im not thinking of) so you could create one if you wanted

Thanks Guys for your promp[t feedback.

I haven;t used ACAD since 2000 som have become quite rusty.  Annotative text / dims were not really at that version (that I recall)

I've delete the objects that were frozen, I saw them initially however couldn't delete them! Didn't realize the locked layer aspect! duh!  I kind wish I had drawn this in Revit and exported to acad after the fact!  I'm not a revit pro by any means, but it is a lot easier to draw with.  Perhaps once this ACAD file is setup properly it will go as quick as dwg in that environment!

Still unsure about the annotative text / dims. I noticed that the dims are all in metric scales and none in imperial.

Is there a quick overview / tutorial I can go over to perhaps figure this out?

Thx again

BTW, am working in ACAD 2017 so I was unable to open the test.dwg file you had sent.

If you turn all layers on you will see a building outline in the upper part of your screen... delete this and your zoom extents will work the way you want it to... not that it wasn't working before, it's just that the layer was off.  In paperspace, select your viewport and enable xref scales... you will then see the sale you created for 1/4".

all layers are thawed and on.  After selecting erase, and selecting a large area in Model space nothing can be found.

Is there a reason why this supposed to be Imperial drawing shows in pspace 1:100 plus all the other scales are also metric?

The base building plan had been done in metric. However, the renovation plans etc., that we are preparing will be in imperial.
