Help Needed: Drawing a Section from Plan View to Show Arches in AutoCAD

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well! I have a question regarding AutoCAD that I'm hoping someone could help me with. I’m currently working on a masterplan that includes arches, and I’m struggling with how to properly draw a section from the plan view by projecting lines to show these arches accurately.

I’ve asked a few people, but no one seems to know the best way to approach this. Does anyone have any advice or resources that could guide me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Additional information such as an actual drawing, dimensions, etc... is needed

Typically arches are only seen in elevation view so unless the plan has any indication showing the height as to where the arch starts and the height where it ends then it becomes a guessing game.

Obviously you need to have elevation information as indicated by Paul Li and since you did not provide any information from your masterplan other than a very general description of your issue, we can only provide similar assistance such as first develop a 3 view layout than works.

In addition to the very nice elevation drawing @Washingtonn  provided if you need section cuts at an angle to the arches then I would construct a 3d model from which you can xref into a plan drawing, use Xclip command to slice sections from a specific angle location then rotate to elevation view and get the section / elevation view you want.
