HELP: My shift key no longer deselects and instead puts me into 3D free orbit

Hello, I need help desperately as nothing has worked to solve this problem. I don't know what happened, but my shift key no longer deselects item and instead puts me into 3d free orbit mode. It has rendered autocad unusable for me and I have a huge project due in a couple days. I'm running 2022 and use shift to deselect lines and refine my selection from a larger selection. I have restarted my computer as well as uninstalling autocad.

works fine here in AutoCAD2022.1.1 ( from ABOUT command) in Windows10Pro for everyone in my office: but SHIFT key only does what you describe when you press the middle button, not the pick-button (latter is used to deselect items): do you have a mouse problem? a mouse driver setting that needs to be removed? or just using the wrong moue button?

I considered it to be a hardware issue so I've tried 2 different keyboards and 3 mice. Still no improvement. I've tried the program on another computer and it worked just fine. I reinstalled again with a clean uninstall and back to factory settings and still have the issue.

I am not able to replicate your issue, sorry. Is it file specific? Or in all files? Is this a sudden new issue (like it was all working fine yesterday)? Or did you get a new computer?

OR ask your IT folks to reimage your PC to match all the other ones in your office without the problem.
