Hebrew text not displaying correctly (reversed/garbled)

Hi everyone,

I’m a student, and I received an AutoCAD drawing file from my college.

When I open the file on my computer, the Hebrew text appears incorrectly (it looks reversed or like random characters instead of proper Hebrew). However, on the original computer where the file was created, the Hebrew text displays correctly.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?
Could it be caused by missing fonts or text settings?

What would be the best way to fix the Hebrew text so it displays properly?

Thanks in advance!

There have been several variations of this (or similar) issue.

I would start by checking to see if you have the font installed

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fonts-not-being-di...

First, verify whether the font is missing or installed

  • Fonts are located in the following folders:
    1. C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx\Fonts
    2. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx\[release]\enu\Support
  • The default substitution font for AutoCAD is Simplex.shx. To show which font AutoCAD is substituting a font cannot be found:
    1. Open a drawing.
    2. Press F2 to open the dialog.
    1. Opening an AutoCAD 20xx format file. Substituting [simplex.shx] for [font_name.shx]. Regenerating model.
