Most of our drawings are 2d drawings, with some light wireframe type stuff in 3d.  We are a woodworking company, mostly drawing cabinets.  But recently have been noticing heavy slow downs when switching views, or switching from model to paperspace, or from paperspace to paperspace.  And i mean in some cases as long as 10-15 seconds to make the change.

Machine Specs: Intel i5-9600k 3.7 Ghz, 16GB RAM, SSD harddrives, nVidia GeForce GTX 1660, ACAD 2020

I feel like we must have something set wrong.  We try to keep our drawings as organized and small as possible, but some of them get a little big, but even at their biggest, I do not feel like they should be big enough to stress out ACAD or the machine this badly.

So if anyone has some advice, things to check, settings to change, please let me know.

As far as i know we are running the most up to date version of ACAD 2020.  Autodesk Desktop says there are no updates.

An Audit found no errors.  And i am looking through the PURGE list.  The only thing i see a lot of is Groups, named things like "Audit_E_921837987228-0" (i made that number up)  i do not know what these are.  There are a few other things that could be purged, but i cannot see how extra dimension styles would mess things up, or empty layers.

That means nothing, that POS can report false info as often as not: ABOUT command will confirm if you are running the latest (2020.1.3) or not, check now.

SO what changes with your office's setup about that same time? Your IT needs to do a deep dive to find out, I suspect it's not so much an AutoCAD setting as a resource change that is the cause. Could be as dumb as a printer changing network address, to missing folders, to a conflict with an update or software installed at the same time.

Looks like someone already tried to fix your files (and found errors as you are finding in them).

We had been running ACAD 2018, but got hit by a ransomware attack in november, so when we reinstalled we installed 2020.  And we are using,

Product Version: Q 111.0.0 AutoCAD 2020.1.3

It might be a computer problem. Were hard drives cleaned up, wiped, and/or reformatted?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

as far as i know, yes.  AutoCAD is the only program where we am experiencing issues.  Inventor seems to be running fine.
