When I hatch and area it simply doesnt show up.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Can someone please take me through hatching a simple square to see if I am missing something.

I have wasted WAY too much time on this simple task!

Thank you,

Jen

Check to see what hatch pattern you are using and how it fits with the area you are trying to hatch.

Sometimes the area you are hatching is too small for the hatch pattern to show. Decreasing the scale of the hatch will sometimes help.

Wel, maybe you can attach your file and indicate the object you want to hatch and the hatch pattern and scale you want to use.

Difficult to offer suggestions if we don't know what you're trying to achieve.

I want to add a stone hatch to the bottom of a column. A simple rectangle hatched. No hatch style appears. It acts like I didn't hatch it. Very odd.

Have you tried both pick point and select objects? Are you getting any popup messages? Is this a custom hatch pattern?

Then I select the rectangle.

And nada!
Am I missing a step?

By your description it looks like you are using a custom hatch as "stone veneer" is not part of the pre-defined hatch patterns.

Again, without having access to the file it remains a guessing game on our part.

Instead of using the "hatch icon" try and use the BHATCH on the command line.

Look at the command line and enter T for settings.

Pick your hatch settings and apply to the rectangle.

See if that works.

I can't see any hatch. Even solid.
Starting simple.
I draw a rectangle.
I select the "hatch icon "
Then pick the rectangle
Then select solid
And nada. Am I missing a step?

Ok, here's another one:

Enter HATCH at the command line, then enter S for Solid and then select your rectangle.

Jen,

See if you can hatch this box (Drawing attached)

Just open the drawing and select the hatch icon.

Use the default hatch pattern

Use "Select Object"

Select Object, then <ENTER> or right Click

Then select <OK>

The hatch should appear.

If you can not do this in your drawing maybe your object is not at ZERO elevation

Hope this helps

Jen,

Can you share the drawing with the rest of us ?

If not, can your copy the rectangle into another drawing

and attach that for us to look at ?

Thanks !

Ron
