Hatch Dialog Box Missing

I have looked around for a solution to this issue, yet none of the solutions that I have found appear to be working.

My issue is that the HATCH command will not opne up the dialog box for the command. This led me to checking the HPDLGMODE and setting that to equal 1 instead of 2 or 0. Despite changing this setting, the dialog box does not appear. CAD simply freezes whenever I type in HATCH.

This has been an issue for me in both the 2013 and 2014 versions of AutoCAD running on Windows 7 64-bit. I have also not run into this issue on my Windows 8 machine with AutoCAD 2014.
