Graphics Problems - Windows 10

We have recently started to migrate to Windows 10 and have some problems with AutoCAD that we didn’t have in windows 8.1.

The problem occurs when we open certain 3rd party drawings and then our graphics flashes when we pan around in the drawing.

Basically the Graphics is just running really slowly resulting in very slow refresh when in Paperspace.

Your comments would be welcomed.

For info our PC’s have the following spec.

AMD Quad Core Processor 3.8GHz

24Gb of Memory

64-bit OS

Running AutoCAD LT2014.

I would be grateful if you could offer some advice.

Hi,

welcome @forums.autodesk.com!

First try to turn off your hardware acceleration (command _GRAPHICSCONFIG) and see if that helps (also make a screenshot from that dialog so we can see more details about your graphic settings).

Then please let us know which graphic card you do have built in AND if you have updated the driver after you updated from Windows 8 to 10.

I encountered this issue with a fresh install of Windows 10 on my Lenovo Y500 (Intel CPU, NVIDIA GPU) and mitigated it by turning hardware acceleration on and off. Since my CPU is powerful enough I was fine without hardware acceleration for some drawings.

Hi,

>> Since my CPU is powerful enough I was fine without hardware acceleration for some drawings

Does that now mean your system works well with hardware acceleration turned off? (at least the graphic is ok)`?

>> Lenovo Y500 (Intel CPU, NVIDIA GPU

Which nVidia card and which driver? (that's why I asked for a screenshot ... in some cases AutoCAD does not find the correct GPU)

LT2014 is not not supported in Win10 (translation: no one will ever develop a fix for anything you encounter) http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X

Hi, I forgot to say, we are running LT2014 and "graphicsconfig" is not an valid command.

The problem we have is when we have someones (3rd party) drawing open with hatch that our system does not like and then when panning around our drawing it is really jumpy and the "color bylayer" constantly flashes for several seconds.

We have worked out that if we delete the hatch in the 3rd party drawing the problem is fixed.

We have AMD Radeon HD 6450 Graphics cards running two monitors, Driver Version 15.200.1062.1004

One PC has an AMD FirePro V4900 card but we have not migrated to windows 10 on that one yet.

Any advise gratefully received.

Hi,

Can you upload the original drawing and mark one of the hatches or describe with hatches you have to delete so your LT2014 can work?

Also please try to run command _AUDIT and see if AutoCAD find's some issues within the drawing's database.
