Gradient Hatch issues

Hey everyone, I am trying to make a cylindrical hatch and a gradient linear hatch as well (not on the same object). I select my two gradient colors as 251 and 254 and click ok. The gradient hatch runs vertical down my selected object (which is a timber pile). How do I make it so the Gradient runs horizontally across the pile. In other words, I want it to run dark to light horiztonally and not vertically.

Thanks!

Please look for the "Angle" option on the hatch ribbon.  Simply change the angle to 90 and you should have what you want.

I've tried changing the angle to 90 degrees but it causes the gradient to look a single color. Is there any other option?

Hi again,

Try a little exercise... Open a new drawing and draw a recatngle thats longer than it is tall (x=12, y=5).  Apply a hatch to the rectangle using the gradient hatch.  Observe the default gradient then select the "GR_CYLIN" or "GR_INVCYL" swatch from the pattern panel of the hatch ribbon.  Observe the vertical nature of the hatch.  Now click in the angle slider or angle entry field of the properties panel in the hatch ribbon.  Change the angle to 90 and you should see a horizontal of the gradient hatch.

For the drawing you are working in you need to look over all of your hatch ribbon settings and verify that scale, tint, and other settings are not obstructing the horizontal result that indeed will work.  Obviously you need to verify that gradient colors 1 & 2 are different.
