Giant Dotted circle just appeared and wont delete?

I seem to have some sort of circle in my drawing that is not selectable so I cant delete it.  It is comprised of multiple dots do when you are zoomed in its not that noticeable but when you zoom way out it creates this giant circle.  Does anyone know the command to get rid of this?  Circle is overall 38000' but does not affect zoom extents.

Maybe it's drawn on layer Defpoints

Thaw all layers, On all layers

use CTRL+A  and hit DELETE key.

It's might be a point, nested in a block. Check your pdmode and pdsize.  Good practice is to always put nested points on the defpoints layer. Points on that layer only display as a single dot and ignore the pdmode.

@cdhardestydesigns ,

This may be a ghosted object - see suggestion on this link:

I don't think that can be it.  Points that show as shapes don't show in non-continuous linetypes.  Here's a Point with PDMODE=33 for the circle shape, and a surrounding Circle, both on the same Layer with a DOT-family linetype:

The Point's display "circle" is continuous, not dotted.  And it's not just that the Point is too small to show the non-continuous linetype -- if I make the Circle object smaller than the Point's displayed shape, it's still dotted:

I understand that you are not able to select the circle, to delete it. Make sure AutoCAD has all its updates installed (use the Autodesk desktop app for the same). If the issue persists, with the steps suggested by the users in this forum, you can also try the following:

  • It would also be good to see if it is caused by a damaged hatch (since you are not able to be select it).
  • See if deleting all the hatches removes the circle issue. If yes, the original hatch geometry causing the issue needs to be detected and delete such damaged hatches.
  • If not, additional workflows on how to approach corrupted drawing files can be tested from here -https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-File-Corruption.html

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately this did not resolve it.

A bad hatch boundary? Do you have hatches in your drawing?

It would really help if you post that drawing. Possibly remove some sensitive stuff.

Else it's just blind guessing.

Thank you for the suggestion on the hatch, there are lots of hatches within the drawing!!

I was able to isolate the culprit, when I deleted that hatch it did delete the giant circle.  Now I've just gotta figure out what is making the object to hatch unhappy!
