Do you want to know how to design a gear or draw a gear in AutoCAD? If the latter, the link that @pendean provides is a nice tutorial of how to draw a very simplified gear.  The profile of real gear teeths are not composed of arcs as used in the tutorial.  They are involute curves as described here (scan down to Appication).
