GDT font error

In my classroom a student is getting an x for the GDT font for the depth symbol. We have tried new templates, restarting the pc, working from an older drawing and working from a different PC. This happens with GDT, GDT_IV25 and GDT_IV50 fonts.We are using AutoCAD 2015. 

This just started a day or two ago and the depth symbol had worked on previous drawing he has done. Though, when he tries to edit a drawing that has the depth symbol, such as copy it, it will display an x even though the depth symbol is displayed correctly on the drawing.

This is the only student that is having an issue thiat I know of at this time.

I have teaching/working with the  AutoCAD software for more than 20 yrs. and have not seen this happen before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check GDT.shx properties between his PC and yours and see if anything different.

The displays for the Text Style dialogue box on each computer is identical. I just did try something different by making the a text style with the gdt font. Found on the students station when typing out the alphabet without cap locks or holding down shift he got upper cased letters, cap locks gives upper cased letters and if the shift key is held down he can get the symbols that he needs for his drawings.

So for now we can work with this.
