function key F12 not working in autocad 2015

hello, 

        i have a problem on my windows 7 laptop of dell 3000 series (inspiron 15). when using autocad to draw something I can activate all the FUNCTION KEYS from F1 to F11.. but I can't activate F12 only... F12 means DYNAMIC TRACKOUT for autocad... by pressing F12 we can ON/OFF it. but I cant access that... after pressing F12 nothing happens... it remains the same... please solve the matter and guide me...

Hold down the Shift key on the LEFT side of the keyboard then F12

F12 toggles DYNAMIC INPUT on or off.  You said you can do that with the F12 key.  What behavior are you expecting that you are not seeing?

Dynamic Trackout? What's that?

F12 is DYNMODE toggle and you can toggle that on and off by just clicking here too.  Probably less effort than reaching for the F12 key.

Reset your autocad to default is not a bad option.

If it works to use the Status Bar icon, but not the F12 key, could you simply have a faulty keyboard?

R2015 is not new: is this a sudden new problem, or a new laptop?
or did you just install a new add-on to AutoCAD?

Are you sure your laptop is not using the F12 key for something else unique to it?
