Fills, Dview, & crazy "Z" values

Okay, the root problem here is that I have some drawings, where solids do not show up filled. (Yes, FILLMODE=1, and all of the other tricks have been vetted out).  I've traced this behavior to strange things going on in the viewport (model space).

For one, look at the "Width" value here. How can the view width be negative?

Secondly, look at the values in the View dialog, for the current view.

I can reset all of these values using the DVIEW command and the solid fills come back. But as soon as I run DVIEW > TW again, to rotate the view, these crazy "Z" values creep back in from somewhere, and the fills vanish again.

Am I missing a sysvar or command to get these viewports straightened out?

Hi,

>> How can the view width be negative?

Don't know that, but just 2 thoughts why that may happen:

  • looking from bottom to top (from negative Z-WCS)
  • the virtual camera position has a negative Z-value (what happens when you just switch to PERSPECTIVE = 1?)

Do you have a drawing to play with?

yup, sounds like he's looking from the bottom or has a UCS upside-down.
