Filling in SHX font or switching SHX to TTF

I am trying to write with the romanc.shx font, but it is hollow. Is there a way to fill in the text?

If there is not, I  would like to switch to ROMANC.ttf, yet this font is not available on AutoCAD, despite being installed on my computer. I read on another post that AutoCAD automatically uses the shx version of a font. Is there a way to access/switch to the ttf version?

Thanks, Rob

Make sure that the font you want to use is in the correct folder, e.g. C:\program files\autodesk\autocad 2015\fonts.

You can't "fill" shx fonts.

Try this Romanc drawing and romanc.ttf from 2008 autocad, it's filled.
