FILE SIZE EXTREMELY LARGE IN AUTOCAD 2013 FORMAT

I have a border sheet we use for most of our governmental projects, they are normally around 300 to 400kb. For some reason they are all now about 6-7 mgs. There are minimum 8 layers, no exrefs, I've purged, everything I know what to do. I did notice however there are tons of line types listed and I have no idea where they came from. Also, it will not let me delete these. These line types now I noticed are in my plan file xrefs as well. The system will not let me purge them. Not even sure this is the problem, but would appreciate any suggestions.

Do the linetype names include { } (curly brackets) ?

If so they are DGN Linetypes.

You can search this group for methods to remove them.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

If the linetypes will not go away with a Purge command, try using DGNpurge to see if that works for you. You are also welcome to attach a sample file for me to investigate.

Thank you John for your response. I am unsure of the DGNPurge command and cannot find it on my system. I am working in version 13. I have also attached my base file I spoke of, perhaps that will help with a solution. This is very frustrating as I am no wise savvy with the system. Thank you though for your time and assistance

Hi @Anonymous,

I looked at your file and the linetypes appear to have originated from Xrefs. I tried to purge them to no avavil. So, I simply copied your drawing contents to a new file. That worked!

The linetypes are dgn linetypes. Using Acad 2017, when I purge orphaned dgn linetype data and then purge all (must be done several times until the purge all button in the purge dialog becomes greyed out), the file size goes down to 521KB.
