I created a 'creat date field' in a block attribute. But whenever I copy a dwg file to a new copy, it did not change anything. I tried a few other pc and it still worked. So I don't know how should I do now. Please help!

I've checked and everything is ok. My date form on PC is dd-MMM-yy. Probably the problem is my setting or smt in CAD, not my file.

Hi,

>> But whenever I copy a dwg file to a new copy, it did not change anything. <<

i notice that your DATE text field linked with CreateDate field names.this date will be modified to the date which your CAD file was created on not to the date in your moment day.so you have to edit your field to Date field name as attached below image.

I need the create date field because I copy to the new file everyday and work on it, previous files are just for backing up. Whenever I want to see old files, I can control the by the time it was created.

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I tested your file and it seems to work fine on my side too. Please tell me, if you add a field in your drawing (not in a block) and set it to a date with a time in the format, if you use UPDATEFIELD after a couple of minutes does it update to show the new time?  If this does not work and your fieldeval=31 then I suggest that you perform a Reset Settings to Default to see if that corrects the issue for you.
