Fatal error with AutoCAD LT 2014 in Windows 10

I really need some help here.....

I bought a new computer and put my 2014 AutoCAD LT on my computer that is running Windows 10. Two week ago I did the update and now my AutoCad crashes every time that I touch a toolbar or put a command on the command line. I went back to a previous restore point last week, have uninstalled and then installed AutoCAD and the program still crashes. Can anyone help me?

If AutoCAD doesn't run after you installed a Windows Update, I suggest you try to uninstall the update.

Hello @Blue2012

Welcome to the AutoCAD Community!!

For AutoCAD 2014 there may be some kind of incopatibilidad for Windows 10, that is why I recommend that you uninstall AutoCAD and also the .NET 4.6, also Microsoft is officially recommending that users uninstall .NET 4.6 prior to installing any blocked Autodesk software, and then reinstall .NET 4.6 afterwards.

I append the solution that Autodesk poses where you can see the possible solutions for each version:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/autocad-2015-windows-10-preview-fatal-error/td-p/531743...

I enclose a solution raised previously in the forum:

If you can install a more current version would be much better, you can try downloading and installing a trial version of a more current version:

I hope it helps you,

Hi @Blue2012,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

AutoCAD 2014 is not designed to work on Windows 10. Even though you appear to have rolled back the update, I am not surprised that it does not work.

You have a few options in my opinion:

  • Install an older Operating System such as Windows 7 or 8.1
  • Upgrade to a current release of AutoCAD LT that is designed to run on Windows 10
  • Install a virtual machine on your computer that is running an older OS.
