Can anyone assist with this?

I thought it was a graphics card issue so I have updated this and it seems to keep happening.

Hi,

most important: Please let us know which product and version you have? Please start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot.

Additional info:

  • which operating system
  • which graphic card
  • when does this exception appear

It happens totally randomly, I thought it may be a corrupted drawing but I have worked on many different drawings since and it seems to happen a couple times a week, I also checked to see if there was any memory issues but everything on task manager seems to be running smoothly

Hi,

well, FX1800 is quite old, and as you are using AutoCAD LT I guess you don't have 3D drawings and also not too big drawings. So I would suggest to disable hardware acceleration (command _GRAPHICSCONFIG) and see if the crashes get better (or worse).

Next step would be to reset settings to default, but as that would remove your customization's I would first test the graphic card/-driver before doing that step.

Hi

My hardware acceleration is already disabled - what would be the best way to test the graphics card?

Kind Regards,

Rhys

Hi,

>> My hardware acceleration is already disabled

Well, then try to reset settings to default >>>details<<<

When AutoCAD starts then please do not migrate settings if you are asked to do that (not sure if you have another version of AutoCAD installed, also don't know if LT has such an option).

>> what would be the best way to test the graphics card?

I don't know a specific test with AutoCAD, only the way to see if AutoCAD works more stable when hw-acc is OFF.

There is no fix for "totally randomly": you will need to better identify the trigger (hard to do sometimes), it may be your files or something you've added to your 6+year old setup today that did not exist in the years of smooth sailing you've enjoyed so far.
