FATAL ERROR : Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 in AutoCAD 2014

I am having a similar error. I am a student running AutoCAD 2014 on Windows XP. I am using a student version. I get about three minutes into my work and the program crashes. I don't even have to do anything other than start the program. Wait a few minutes then I get the error.

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0028 Exception at 2e444b6bh

Please help!

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this error when running AutoCAD 2014. Please verify that your Windows XP has service pack 3 applied as well as any subsequent updates.

Then, please try running your AutoCAD with the No Hardware switch. If it behaves that means you have a graphics card issue. You should check to see if you have the most current driver.

Please tell me what card you have installed.

I am now running AutoCAD with the no hardware switch, it has not crashed since. Thanks!

I am using a Dell Optiplex GX 620 with Windows XP SP3. All updates are current.

I have a similar issue today with one of my drawings. The error reads "FATAL ERROR: Unhanled access violation reading 0x0000 exception at d452a3e3h" and my civil 3d just crashes every time i open it and it was fine yesterday. I am running win7 and using civil 3d 17
