Failure to Save (ACAD 2022)

AutoCAD 2022 I am getting an error message when trying to save. The error message is "One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not complete and no file was created."

This will happen after I have worked on a drawing and saved it several times. I have audited the file, found no errors. I have purged the file and still not able to save. Now if I "save as" the drawing and give it a new name (or just edit the current filename) it will save. Has anyone run across this, if so were you able to correct the issue?

Thanks

Keith Howard

@KeithHoward6391 Have you set your default format to be anything lower than 2018DWG file format? That's one reason.

Did you copy/paste from another outside DWG file from another source that is not you or your variant of AutoCAD? Another reason.

Someone else edit your file (with or without your knowledge) using a different new variant of AutoCAD, or they copy/pasted from yet a 3rd file? A third reason for what you see.

Are you aware that in AutoCAD QSAVE is not the same as SAVE nor SAVEAS? Experiment sometime, unless you really are using only the LT version of AutoCAD in which case the first two are just QSAVE.

I tried "save" and ".save" same results. The file originally started by attaching a TIF and use draw on,

try this solution:

Use the command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD to create a new file that only contains AutoCAD-native objects. Then use that new file going forward.

@KeithHoward6391 Can you try to install the latest version of AutoCAD which will be available to download in your account manage.autodesk.com.

Also if the files are saved to cloud storage or network drives set ISAVEBAK to O and ISAVEPERCENT to 0 and check how it works?

Gang,

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. I stumbled upon the problem and fix this morning. On the files I was having problem saving are files that I had brought into Adobe Illustrator. Even after making sure the file was closed I was still not able to save. Then this morning I closed Adobe Illustrator completely and the filed saved fine. I can only think there was somehow a link between Adobe and AutoCAD that was causing the issue. Everything seems to be working fine now.

Again thank you again for all the suggestions.
