extruding complex 2d shapes is causing autocad to crash

hello,

 

ive been working on a complex wiggle that ive been trying to presspull mainly to turn it into a 3d shape but autocad keeps crashing.

 

im not a novice but im no expert. 

 

im running a pretty high end machine.

 

- 32gb of ram 

- ryzen 9 -12 core processor 

- *3XS* ASUS 5500 XT DUAL EVO OC

can anyone help me define what the issue is please ?

is it hardware ? 

software ?

or just me being a novice ?

It doesn't crash on mine.

EDU file? from MECH version of AutoCAD too.

See attached, purged the file and changed Shademode to 2D for this exercise, no issues in R2021.1.1 in WIn10Pro here.

cheers. what do you think the issue is my end ? do you think its a graphics card issue ? (scratches head)

thanks patchy. im still a little confused as to why i cant presspull the shape. theres clearly nothing wrong in the drawing. what do you think it could be on my end ? do you think its a hardware issue ?

edu file ? do you educational file ? i'm a student studying product design if thats what your asking. and sorry but what does mech version mean ? and ive tried it on my pc which is running windows 10 with the above specs listed in the initial description. same issue occurs.

your DWG file contains AUTOCADMECHANICAL content (aka MECH), so you did not create this file from plain AutoCAD alone in your Educational software. Or are you using MECH?

Either way there is nothing wrong with your file, no crashes here.
