Extrude only edges of polyline not full solid

I did a special shape with arcs and lines, I then join them to make one polyline which worked and now I'm trying to extrude it so that I can have a 3d solid of that shape but it only extrude the edges, the solid is empty inside. I made sure that every arc and line were connected from endpoint to endpoint and I checked again to make sure there were so mistake so I don't understand why it's not working. If someone could help me please, I've been trying to figure it out for a few days now...

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you used REGION or BOUNDARY command to create a new shape and extrude it?

If above is not working, could you post the sample drawing here?

Thank you,

Hello @Anonymous ,

Welcome to AutoCAD Forum! I understand you are trying to extrude your model. There are a few suggestions in this other forum post which may help: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/polyline-extruded-is-quot-empty-quot/td-p/7583808

If none of this worked, let me know. If you could provide the drawing file that would be helpful. Hope this helps! 🙂

Hi,

Try to flatten the object using the command "FLATTEN" and then join the object to make it close. Now use the command "EXTRUDE" or "PRESSPULL"

Hi Cynthia, I tried all the solutions in the link you sent but none are working. It's weird because when I do boundary a duplicate of my drawing appear but if I do enter, the duplicate disappears.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IT WORKED OMG. Once I flatten my drawing on Top view it removed the part that wasn't flatten so I redid it, I join and I extruded and it worked! You saved me a lot of times. Really appreciate. 😄
