Grab the endpoint grip of the line then enter _EXT press enter then hover over the endpoint grip for a second then drag the line.

Hi,

... or use command _LENGTHEN which has a lot of options for how to define the new length (works for arcs too).

Hi,

Turn ON object snap tracking (Auto snap) F11

Edit : F11 will Tracks the cursor horizontally and vertically from object snap locations. so the best way is to select from Osnap (Extension) and as mentioned above.

Just turn on the extension snap. It gives you a guide line going out from your line. I leave mine on so it always works. It doesn't really affect anything else by leaving it on like leaving too many other snaps on permanently does.

edit: what Imad said. That's what I get for not refreshing before I commented.

Since the OP asked in terms of dragging, the DYnamic option in Lengthen would be the one to do that.

HI @Anonymous,

I made a short video that shows how to lengthen a line by selecting the endpoint grip and then allowing the extension OSNAP to help. I hope this illustrates the way I like to do this process.
