Exporting to WMF Format Without Displaying Clipped Block Boundary

I've encountered an issue while exporting the drawing to WMF format.

When exporting blocks that have been xclipped, the clipping boundary always appears in the WMF. Is there any way to hide these boundaries or perhaps make them transparent during the export process?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!ac.PNG

Welcome to the forum!  Can you share what version of AutoCAD you are currently using?

Why not just use PNGOUT which displays lineweight and text correctly with whatever background you want? You can even convert the background to transparent with free online tools to include with customizing the ribbon and toolbars.

Both https://www.online-image-editor.com/ and https://www.online-image-editor.com/ will make the background transparent for you if you don't have any software installed for it.

@TomBeauford  Thank you for your response. I export to WMF primarily because I intend to paste it into Microsoft Word for creating text documents later. The graphic will include multiple buildings covering the entire base area. Png format arent clear enough, and I thought WMF format can maintain higher resolution. If there are alternative methods or output formats, please kindly advise.

Is your XCLIP or CLIP visible on screen or hidden/turned off through XCLIPFRAME command?

I don't use 2020, but in 2024 with the frame hidden WMFOUT and EXPORT (to WMF) commands do not show the clip boundary here when exported.

@pendeanThank you for helping!  I tried Autocad 2022 and turned off the visibility through  XCLIPFRAME but still doesn't work.

I am unable to replicate the issue here with my own files and content sadly: can you share your DWG with that CLIP intact in it so we can try it over here?

@pendean   I've sent the dwg file link via private message. Please review it. If the issue can be resolved in AutoCAD 2024, I would upgrade to the newer version if necessary.

thanks for the DWG file: see attached created with WMFOUT command in AutoCAD 2023.1.5 in Windows10Pro, I see no clip boundary, do you?

Until recent versions I'd always had issues with the FRAME system variables like IMAGEFRAME.

Even when they were set to 0 or 2 they would still plot so I toggled from 0 to 2 or 2 to 0 to get them to stop plotting, until I opened the drawing the next time at least.

Worth trying at least.

The issue persists when exporting certain hatch areas; the block frames are displayed as white lines within those hatch patterns after updating to the 2024 version. But the 2024 version is an improvement over the previous ones. Thank you very much for your advice.
